Niche Development

In 1994, Stellar Holdings’ owners, through their affiliate, Stellar Bygg Vesta Partners, acquired Bygg Vesta, a Scandinavian firm active in Sweden for decades in development, management, and property investment. The owned portfolio in 1994 included more than 40 commercial properties, totaling over 1,700,000 square feet. In 2003, Bygg Vesta sold off a major portfolio of office and retail in Linkoping, the fifth largest city in Sweden, and shifted to a residential development-oriented business model. Working with local Swedish city governments and establishing partnerships with development and construction entities, the Bygg Vesta team began the development of apartments in Stockholm, Goteborg, and Malmo. In the winter of 2006, Bygg Vesta, working with the University of Linkoping, also commenced construction of the first on-campus student housing development in Sweden. As of mid-2006, Bygg Vesta has 8 projects under development, with 3 projects completed or near completion.
