Lars H. Jonsson
Lars Jonsson has been actively involved in commercial real estate since coming to the US in 1986 and founded Stellar Holdings in 1989. Before moving to the US, Lars was CEO of NICO International, a Swedish-based engineering and marine service company with worldwide operations; Vice President and head of the transportation division of Nynäs Petroleum, one of Sweden’s major oil companies; and Manager of Sales and Marketing for the New Building Division of Gotaverken, a world leading Swedish shipbuilding company. Lars has extensive experience in business with global competition and cyclical markets. As a member of several Cabinet-level Swedish trade missions, he has been involved in high-level transactions in most parts of the world, including state visits to Mexico, Venezuela and Cuba led by the Swedish Prime Minister, Olof Palme. Lars graduated from the Gothenburg School of Business in 1971 and completed the Senior Executive Program at Stanford University in 1985. In 2006, the Swedish Government appointed Lars to be the Honorary Swedish Consul for the State of Washington. He also serves on the board of several not-for-profit organizations.
Laurie McDonald Jonsson
Laurie McDonald Jonsson is a prominent Seattle businesswoman
who has combined a successful travel and business career with
a personal commitment to helping women and children around
the world. She has founded Stellar International, a company
with a focus on investments that give back to the communities
they serve, and Stellar International Networks which connects
and empowers women leaders around the globe. Past efforts
have resulted in groundbreaking women’s business and leadership
delegations to central Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Cuba
and Africa, with an historic trip to China planned for fall
of 2006 in order to promote the ideals of “Commerce With A
Conscience”. Prior to founding Stellar International, Ms.
McDonald Jonsson co-founded and managed successful businesses
in the travel industry including Sundance Cruises and Admiral
Cruises and was also founding director of Expedia.com, Commerce
Bank, and the Puget Sound Bank. She was the first chair of
the Governor’s Executive Women’s Council under Governor Gary
Locke and, in 2003, was awarded a Presidential appointment
to the Board of the National Women’s Council in Washington,
D.C. She currently serves on the Board of Harvard University
JFK School of Government – Women’s Leadership Board and is
also a member of the Committee of 200 (C200). Ms. McDonald
Jonsson is the founding President of the Washington State
Women’s Forum and founding chair of the Center for Women and
Democracy at the University of Washington.
Stanley B. McDonald
Stan McDonald is Chairman of Stellar International, a diversified
investment and venture capital company. Stan has a 50-year
career of successfully managing investments. In the late 1970’s
he acquired the non-automotive real estate assets of Chrysler
Realty Corporation, which was one of the biggest real estate
transactions in the U.S. at that time. He is particularly
well known in the cruise ship industry, having been founder
and President of Princess Cruises and Sundance Cruises as
well as the Co-Chairman of Admiral Cruises. Stan was President
and Founding Member of the World Business Council, Area Vice
President and Director of the Young President’s Organization,
and a Chairman of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the same
organization. He received a degree in Business Administration
Studies from the University of Washington.
Michael Heijer
Michael Heijer is President of GranCorp, a privately held
real estate and entrepreneurial investment firm that is active
in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California. Originally
Granaten USA, the firm has owned several prominent hotels
in the Northwest, successfully converted 12 luxury apartment
properties to condominiums, and has created several businesses,
among them Excelsior Property Management. The firm currently
owns buildings in Seattle, Portland, and San Diego and is
developing an upscale condominium project in Portland’s Pearl
District. In addition to GranCorp, Michael has co-founded
America Legal Copy, Award Hardwood Floors, Northwest Business
Bank, and Nordicdomains.com. His other board positions have
included the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Nordic
Heritage Museum, PONCHO (Patrons of Northwest Charitable Organizations),
and the Bellevue Youth Soccer League. He received his Bachelor
of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley.
Svante Wadman
Svante Wadman is a Partner with Cushman & Wakefield and manages their Swedish operations. Svante has extensive
experience in asset management, property management, acquisition,
and real estate law. At the age of 33, he was the youngest
ever president of a public company in Sweden, Fastighets AB
Fortet. Since then, he has served as President for AB Bootes
and Custos Capital, and Managing Director of Nordic Countries for GE Capital Real
Estate, where he established that firm’s business platform
in Sweden and Denmark. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield. Svante owned his own business as a management
consultant and asset manager. He received degrees in Statistics,
Economics, and Business Economics, as well as Business Law,
from the University of Uppsala in Sweden.
Jim Reinhardsen
Jim is an Owner and Managing Director of the Heartland affiliated companies (Heartland Group, Inc., Heartland LLC, and Northwood Craftsman Homes). Jim has extensive experience in evaluating, negotiating, and structuring complex real estate projects, ventures, and transactions. He is broadly involved in the design and implementation of land strategies, both for Heartland and for public and private landowners across the country. Jim currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington, on the Advisory Board for the Commercial Real Estate Certificate Program at the University of Washington where he also serves as Lead Instructor, on the Visiting Committee for University of Washington’s Educational Outreach, and on the Executive Committee and the Board of The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust. Jim has given lectures nationally on real estate and land-related topics. Prior to joining Heartland, Jim was a real estate, tax, and securities attorney both in California and Washington. Jim obtained his J.D. at the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California, and his Bachelor of Arts at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. |
